Increasing Safety with Lights

From construction sites and mines to public roads and industrial facilities, proper lighting helps to prevent accidents and save lives.

The most common safety lights are Strobes and Beacons.

Beacons and strobes predominantly use flashing amber lights in various patterns to alert the viewer of a hazard. This can be used to draw attention to a wide load truck on the highway or equipment working on the side of the road for example.

There are many different types of lights in this category:

from a low profile strobe light to a 17″ beacon bar or a 20″ light bar with added amber warning light function.

Zone Lights

These lights are another form of safety light, projecting a red or blue line behind or around a piece of equipment. This line indicates the safe perimeter or the danger zone within the line. Zone lights are especially useful for mobile equipment and forklifts in warehouses or job sites with high foot traffic.

Safety Whips

Safety Whips are flexible poles, each topped with a bright partially reflective flag.

They are used to increase visibility from a distance or over visual obstructions, making them essential in mining, construction and off-road environments.

Adding light to a safety whip brings its visibility to a whole new level.

LED Safety Whips come with a either a top light or a pole that lights up for added visibility.

Depending on the regulations of a particular site, the safety whip has to be of a certain colour.

NightRider™ LEDS now offers safety whips which have the capability of changing colour within the RGB spectrum to make it easy to comply to any site.

In conclusion:

Investing in proper safety lighting is not just a regulatory necessity,

it is a proactive step toward protecting workers,

reducing accidents and maintaining efficient operations.
